Design and Construction Reports

Multiple Design and Construction Reports (DCRs) were prepared to document various components of the design and construction of the Highway 401 Expansion Project. Each DCR was subject to a 30-day stakeholder review period. A Notice of DCR Submission for each DCR was published in local newspapers, on the Project website and distributed to those on the Project contact list. Each Design and Construction Report (and related Notice) has been made available here for review.

Design and Construction Report (DCR) No. 3 was available for review from March 19, 2020 to April 17, 2020.

DCR No. 3 documents rehabilitation or replacement of five structural culverts, watercourse realignments, and landscaping and ecological restoration of the corridor.

Design and Construction Report (DCR) No. 2 was available for review from January 9, 2020 to February 7, 2020.

DCR No. 2 documents the design and construction process undertaken for the Civil Works such as roadway design, drainage and stormwater management, watercourse realignment, select structural works, and supplementary works including lighting, carpool lots, ITS/ATMS, and active transportation.

Design and Construction Report (DCR) No. 1 was available for review from August 22, 2019 to September 20, 2019.

Notice of Study Commencement and Design and Construction Report No. 1 Submission (PDF 294 KB)

DCR No. 1 documents the design and construction process undertaken for the following works: Clearing and Grubbing along the entire Project corridor and replacement of the CN Rail Overhead Structure, the CP Rail Overhead Structure, and the Trafalgar Road Underpass Structure.
